On Thursday, 13 August 2026, Greenside High School came alive with music, dance, energy and entertainment as our learners took to the stage for Greenside Has Talent 2026.
The evening was a wonderful celebration of the incredible talent within our school. From singers and dancers to entertaining and original acts, our performers brought enthusiasm, confidence and plenty of personality to the stage. Most importantly, every learner who performed had the courage to stand in front of an audience and share their talent — and that alone deserves enormous applause.
The standard of the performances certainly gave our judges a difficult job, but after much deliberation, the winners of Greenside Has Talent 2026 were announced:
1st Place – Greenside Afrobeats Kwaito Dance Team
A powerful and energetic performance that had the audience cheering and brought the stage to life!
2nd Place – Gian Charles
Gian delivered a beautiful performance of a Whitney Houston classic — an absolutely stunning vocal performance.
3rd Place – Hamilton
A truly spectacular and memorable act that brought something very special to the stage.
Adding an extra touch of excitement and prestige to the evening was our exceptional panel of guest judges.
The excitement in the hall was unmistakable when the judges were announced, with learners cheering and screaming with delight as they realised who would be judging the competition!

Our judges embraced the spirit of Greenside Has Talent, bringing enthusiasm, warmth and professionalism to the difficult task of selecting our winners.
The Team Behind the Talent
An event like Greenside Has Talent certainly doesn’t happen by itself, and there are many people who deserve a huge round of applause.
Firstly, a very special thank you to our Headmaster, Mr Strauss, for giving the GREEN light to an evening filled with talent, fun and a little bit of magic!
Thank you to Ms Hicks, Head of Culture, and to Jairen and Yamo, the learners in charge of the Culture portfolio, for their contribution to the event. Yamo also did a fantastic job guiding us through the evening as Master of Ceremonies.
Thank you to Ms Loonat for assisting with the auditions and to Isa Ahmed and the Theatre Technical Team for ensuring that our performers had the technical support they needed on stage.
Behind the scenes, many other people helped make the event possible. Thank you to Ms Rangata for handling ticket sales, the Print Room for producing our certificates, programmes and tickets, and Mr Liebenberg and the Maintenance Team for preparing and setting up the hall.
And finally, the biggest congratulations must go to every single learner who auditioned and performed. Stepping onto a stage takes confidence and courage, and every performer played a part in making the evening such a success.
Greenside Has Talent 2026 was about far more than winning a competition. It was about celebrating creativity, confidence, teamwork and the incredible talent within our Greenside community.
